Thanks for stopping by and checking out my blog. My name is Julie Faulds. When I was little I always wanted to be a writer, a novelist specifically, and though that dream got away from me as a life-long career, I still write about life, living with chronic illness and gratitude. I have written on the Blogger platform for many years now and am now giving WordPress a try. In 2011 during a long bout of insomnia, I took a bunch of my first blog posts and turned them into a little book called Chronically Positive which can be found as an ebook at BarnesandNoble.com.
I am currently in my early 50’s. I was a military brat growing up and though I didn’t always appreciate moving around at the time, I have grown to understand what a blessing and an education it was to move all over the country. I have been married since 02/1986 and have a wonderful son who was born in 1987. Josh stayed behind when we took my transfer from New England to Indiana, is engaged to a lovely young lady and she brings with two adorable children to the family. I have two amazing parents, two lovely sisters (plus a bonus sister), two sisters-in-law, a brother-in-law, and a host of nieces and nephews. I love my family dearly and each of them amazes me in a host of different ways.
As empty nesters, we currently have two adopted rescue dogs who are the light of our lives. Auggie is a Pekingese/Cocker mix who, at an estimated 11 years old is fearless, feisty and full of joy. His “sister”, Fenway, is a Boxer/Lab mix who we brought home at 9 weeks and is now almost 3. She is sweet as pie, clingy beyond belief and a total chicken-butt. She’s afraid of being away from Auggie, loud noises (she sprints away from the hair dryer and vacuum), and utterly quakes when we put her on her leash or into the car- both things Auggie adores so she will follow him- just not relax and enjoy it. Together they are monsters that have our hearts.
In addition to writing and being a “Dog Mom” I manage a college bookstore, do Marketing and Social Media for my sister’s family business, from August to November I am an actor at a Louisville haunted house and am finally finishing the Bachelor’s degree that I started many years ago. The goal with the degree is to add a skill-set so that when I can no longer physically manage the bookstore, I have something that I can do to remain productive.
That’s me in a nutshell! Thanks for stopping by.
